Urban Green, a new radio documentary by Barbara Bernstein, explores
the ribbons of greenery in our city environments. Urban Green show
how urban watersheds, community gardens and farmers’ markets connect
us to the cycles of life: the cycles of growing food, eating what’s
in season and the changing water levels of the rivers and creeks that
flow through our communities. The documentary includes the voices of
Oregon environmental figures like Mike Houck, Steve Johnson, Bob
Sallinger, Jim Labbe, Leslie Pohl-Kosbau and Suzanne Briggs, as well
as national authors Michael Pollan and Richard Louv.
