The Sellwood Moreland Farmers Market could not be the vital community resource that it is without the generous support of individual donors and business supporters!
We’re a nonprofit that utilizes vendor booth fees, grants & community donations to bring the Sellwood Moreland community 23+ markets a year, each week offering up community access to fresh, local produce & vendors. Our market offers family activities, music, & weekly hunger reduction and nutrition programs. This October, we are asking for financial support to close a gap in the market's budget.
This season brought big changes. Location, day, time, even a name refresh!
We encountered new expenses for street barriers & new signage. We even offered farmer discounts to ensure we could bring you access to an array of local producers.
While our budget was slim and our recovery from underperforming seasons during Covid is still in progress, we continued to offer three hunger reduction and nutrition education programs that impact low-income families, children, and our neighborhood's senior citizens. This year we have already given out over $8800! We are thrilled to have received such overwhelmingly positive feedback about the thousands of dollars these programs distribute annually and their impact on the lives of our community.
Our fundraising goal this Fall is $6,000.
